What we do and do not claim
A chiropractic practice should say what it will not promise. Here is ours.
What we do
We examine, explain and adjust gently, and we teach movement. We describe each technique, including Webster, before we use it.
Explain what we find and the risks, before any care
Use side-lying and pillow positions
Teach sitting, sleeping, lifting and carrying
Write to your midwife or OB, with your permission
What we do not claim
We do not promise results, and results vary. We do not claim anything about pregnancy itself.
Nothing about labor, birth or delivery
Nothing about the way a baby lies
Nothing about conditions in babies or children
No cure, no guarantee and no number of visits
Webster is a technique, not a result
What Webster technique is, and is not
Webster is a chiropractic technique that checks the movement of the pelvis and the sacrum, with light contact and soft-tissue work around them. We describe it because some patients ask for it by name. We use it only if you want it, and only after your midwife or OB agrees to chiropractic care. We do not describe it as a treatment for labor, for birth or for how a baby lies.
Call your midwife, OB or 911 first
Call your midwife or OB
Bleeding, leaking fluid, regular tightening, a fall or a blow to the belly, or fewer baby movements than usual.
Call them or go in
A sudden severe headache, or swelling in your face or hands with changes in your vision.
Call 911
Trouble breathing, chest pain, new weakness or numbness, or anything that feels like an emergency.
Questions about what we claim
Do you treat babies and children?
No. We see pregnant patients and, after the birth, their own care only. We do not treat babies or children.
Will a visit help my labor?
We make no claim about labor, birth or delivery. Ask your midwife or OB about those.
Is chiropractic care during pregnancy safe?
Every kind of care has risks. Soreness after an adjustment is common and usually short. Rare serious problems have been reported after chiropractic care. We explain the risks before you decide, we use positions and pillows made for pregnancy, and your midwife or OB knows you are seeing us. Ask them first. If you are told to avoid chiropractic care, we will not treat you.
Questions before you book?
Call us. We would rather answer than have you wonder.
